There are two airports servicing Rome for European and International flights.

There are two Rome Italy airports.

Rome Airport Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci Airport, Rome International Airport) and Rome Ciampino Airport. (Giovan Battista Pastine).  

da Vinci Fiumicino Roma airport (AIRPORT CODE FCO) is the main airport hub for Rome and all of south Italy.  Most International flights land here, including those from North America and Asia.  Many inter-European flights from non-discount airlines, including British Airways, Air France, Alitalia and Lufthansa also use this airport as do cargo flights. 

There are three Fiumicino Airport terminals.  International flights usually arrive in Terminal C. Flights from other parts of Europe usually use "B".  Inter-Italy flights, "A." 

FCO airport location, about 25 km southwest of the city on the Italian coast.

Ciampino Roma Airport (AIRPORT CODE CIA) is serviced mostly by the discount carriers such as RyanAir and easyJet as well as private planes. It is a much smaller airport and has only one terminal.  

Location is about 20 km to the southeast of Rome in the rural town of Ciampino. 

Be sure to check with your airline to see which Rome Italy airport you 

will be using when you fly to Italy.
